Anthony Skepple,

Background
Anthony was hired as the head coach of the Briercrest Women’s basketball program on April 1, 2020
and has led the program to incredible new heights, including two ACAC bronze medal finishes, 3 ACAC
final 4 appearances, as well as earning ACAC South Coach of the Year honors in 2022-23, setting school
single season win records in 2022-23 and 2024-25, and becoming Briercrest All-time winningest coach in
2025. With a strong focus on player development, team culture, and competitive excellence, Anthony
has built a program that emphasizes both individual growth and team success.
A former collegiate player, Anthony competed for four years at The King’s University before
transitioning into coaching. He began his coaching career at the junior high and high school levels,
winning city championships with Kenilworth Junior High (boys) and WP Wagner High School (senior
girls). Before joining Briercrest, Anthony also gained professional-level experience as a video coordinator
and offensive assistant with the Edmonton Eskimos, contributing to the team’s Grey Cup championship
in 2015. Anthony moved to Caronport in 2017 to become the assistant athletic director at Briercrest and
after a year transitioned back into coaching as an assistant coach for the men’s basketball program.
Since becoming the head coach of the women’s basketball team Anthony has also worked for basketball
Saskatchewan, coaching the U15 boys’ provincial team in the summer of 2023 as well as working as a
high-performance coach and then a mentor coach for basketball Saskatchewan as well. In 2025,
Anthony was named an apprentice coach for the Saskatchewan Rattlers in the CEBL, giving him an
opportunity to work with top professional coaches, top level Canadian university athletes and
professional international players and expand his coaching throughout the summer.
With a wealth of experience across multiple levels of the game, Anthony is committed to mentoring
student-athletes and preparing them for success on and off the court. He continues to push the
women’s basketball program forward with a vision of hard work, accountability, and team-first
basketball.
Outside of coaching, Anthony is a dedicated family person. He is married to Teri, and together they have
three children, who can often be seen hanging around the gym, cheering loudly and being a part of the
Briercrest basketball familily.
